3. Legal Basis under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are a citizen or resident of a member country of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using your Personal Data depends on the data we collect and the specific context in which we collect it. We may process your Personal Data because:
- We need to perform a contract with you, or take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)

Generally, the legitimate interest pursued by LWIS in relation to our use of your Personal Data is the efficient performance or management of our business relationship with you.
4. Retention of Data
LWIS will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Products, or when we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods.
5. Transfer of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. LWIS is based in the United States, and our service providers process data primarily in the United States.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. LWIS will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place, including the security of your data and other personal information.
6. Disclosure of Data
Legal Requirements
LWIS may disclose your Personal Data in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation
- Protect and defend the rights or property of LWIS
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with our Products
- Protect the personal safety of users of our Products or the public
- Protect against legal liability
Where we engage service providers to process data on our behalf (see Service Providers, Plugins and Tools), they are bound by contractual stipulations and may only process your data as instructed by us.
7. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, and reputable cloud infrastructure providers.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security; any transmission is at your own risk. If we learn of a security breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Rights under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are a citizen or resident of a member country of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. LWIS aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data. In certain circumstances, you have the following data protection rights:
- The right to access. You have the right to request information concerning the personal information we hold that relates to you.
- The right of rectification. You have the right to have your information rectified if that information is inaccurate or incomplete.
- The right to erasure. You have the right to request deletion of your Personal Data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- The right to object. You have the right to object to your personal information being used for a particular purpose, for example via an unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
- The right of restriction. You have the right to request that LWIS restricts the processing of your personal information.
- The right to data portability. You have the right to be provided with a copy of the information LWIS has on you in a structured, machine-readable, and commonly used format.
- The right to withdraw consent. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where LWIS relied on your consent to process your personal information.
Please note that LWIS may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@lwis.ai. You also have the right to complain to a Data Protection Authority about our collection and use of your Personal Data.
9. California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have certain rights with respect to your personal information pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
- Request that we delete your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information — although we do not sell personal information
These rights are subject to limitations as described in the CCPA. We will not discriminate against any consumer for exercising their CCPA rights. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@lwis.ai.
10. Service Providers, Plugins and Tools
LWIS may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Products, to provide the Products on our behalf, to perform website-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Products are used (“Service Providers”). These Service Providers have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Hosting
Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, CA, USA). When you visit the site, Vercel processes standard server logs, including your IP address, to deliver and secure the website.
Analytics
With your consent (given through the cookie banner), we use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager (Google LLC, Mountain View, CA, USA), to understand how visitors use the Products — including pages visited, behavior, and conversions such as contacting us or subscribing to the newsletter. Google may set cookies and process your IP address and usage data for this purpose. If you decline consent, Google's tags do not store or read cookies on your device. We may also, with your consent, use marketing pixels from advertising platforms to measure campaign effectiveness. You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer; see our Cookie Policy for details.
We additionally use Vercel Analytics, a cookieless service that collects aggregated visit statistics without storing identifiers on your device or tracking you across sites. It runs independently of your cookie consent because it does not use cookies.
Email Delivery
Contact form submissions and newsletter signups are delivered to us via Resend (San Francisco, CA, USA). The information you submit — such as your name, email address, and message — is transmitted through Resend solely to reach our inbox and is not used by Resend for its own purposes.
Content Delivery
Articles and images on our news pages are served from the Sanity content delivery network (Sanity AS, Oslo, Norway). When your browser loads these assets, your IP address is visible to the CDN as part of the request.
YouTube
Some pages embed videos from the YouTube video platform operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066 USA, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). No data is sent to YouTube until you play an embedded video; at that point a connection to YouTube's servers is established and, if you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account before playing a video. For information about the scope and purpose of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by YouTube, please refer to the YouTube Privacy Guidelines.
Newsletter
If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require a valid email address as well as your consent to receive it, confirmed at the time of signup. No additional data is collected. We only use this data to send the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties. You can revoke consent to the storage and use of your email address for sending the newsletter at any time, e.g., through the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by emailing support@lwis.ai.
11. Links to Other Sites
Our Products may contain links to other sites that are not operated by LWIS. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. You are advised to review the privacy policy of each non-LWIS site you decide to visit.
LWIS has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party product or service.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
LWIS may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Such changes will be posted on this page, with an update to the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide additional notice, such as by email or a prominent notice on our website.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
13. Data Privacy Contact
If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at support@lwis.ai (LWIS INC, Attn: Privacy).
14. Contact by Email or Contact Form
When you contact us by email or through the contact form on our website, we store the data you provide (your email address, possibly your name, business name, and the nature of your enquiry) so we can answer your questions. Insofar as our contact form requests entries that are not required for contacting you, we have marked these as optional. This information serves to substantiate your enquiry and improve the handling of your request. As far as this concerns information about communication channels (such as your email address), you also agree that we may, where appropriate, contact you via this communication channel to answer your request. You may of course revoke this consent for the future at any time.
We delete the data that arises in this context after saving is no longer required, or limit processing if there are statutory retention requirements.
